Gul Qaisrani
Founder & Lead Barrister
Barrister Gul Qaisrani is an experienced legal practitioner admitted to practise across multiple jurisdictions, including New Zealand and Australia. He has built a diverse and respected career spanning both prosecution and defence, with a strong commitment to legal excellence and community service.
He graduated from the University of Auckland and the University of Punjab with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science, and also holds a Master of Business Administration.
With over 20 years’ experience with New Zealand Police and as a public prosecutor, he has represented Police and government agencies across New Zealand and contributed internationally through overseas work.
He has served as principal advisor to the Pakistan Association of New Zealand, advised Auckland Council’s Ethics Board, received the 2019 Community Service Award for his work following the Christchurch shooting incidents, was a finalist for the 2024 Asian Lawyer of the Year Award, and is a member of the New Zealand chapter of the International Police Association.

Anya Khalid
Junior Barrister
Anya graduated in 2025 with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Criminology with a minor in Philosophy, and was admitted to the bar in the same year.
Anya joined Gul Law in 2025 as a litigation assistant and, following her admission, now acts as a Junior Barrister under the supervision of Gul Qaisrani. She works across all matters, including legal research, drafting submissions and correspondence, managing case administration, appearing in court where required, and dealing directly with clients and taking instructions.
Her academic background informs a considered and analytical approach to legal issues, with a strong focus on clarity, precision, and achieving practical outcomes for clients.
